After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, Ashby spent six years in corporate finance in the area of strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. Then he found his true calling: to help individuals, rather than large corporations, achieve their financial dreams.

His philosophy regarding mortgages is very simple: no two clients are exactly alike and no two situations are exactly alike; therefore, a one-size-fits-all approach to mortgages is never in the best interest of the client.
